Former WWE star Matt Cardona, widely recognized by fans as the former Zack Ryder, recently shared a message across his social media platforms.

Just a few days ago, news surfaced that Matt had to cancel his upcoming dates with independent promoters due to a torn pectoral muscle. Following surgery, he's now given fans an update.

In his latest tweet, Cardona expressed that the surgery went well. He mentioned that his journey to recovery had begun and expressed gratitude to everyone who reached out. He specifically thanked his wife Chelsea Green for her support and Dr. Daryl C. Osbahr for successfully treating him.

"Surgery done. The road to recovery starts now. Thanks to all who reached out. Thanks to @ImChelseaGreen for being by my side. Thanks to @DarylOsbahrMD for fixing me. You can’t kill me…I’m already dead," Matt Cardona wrote.

Chelsea Green believes Matt Cardona will be back in WWE

Since his departure from WWE in 2020, Matt Cardona has solidified his presence on the independent circuit, earning the moniker 'The Indy King'.

In a recent interview, Cardona's wife Chelsea Green revealed that she's eagerly awaiting his return to WWE. Despite not knowing the reasons for the delay, she harbors a strong belief that the former Intercontinental Champion's return is inevitable, viewing it as merely a matter of time.

"I am patiently waiting. Because not that I want to be partnered up with him [Matt Cardona] in WWE. That would be great. I think we could have an amazing mixed match, tag team division, whatever it is. But I don’t know. I don’t know why, I would love to know why. I would love to be a fly on the wall of kind of like the meetings of the top guys. But I do feel like in my heart of hearts, it’s only a matter of time, it feels crazy that he wouldn’t be," she said.
